Missions

Our community outreach programs are designed to help those in need.

We don't require that you belong to any particular religious affiliation or financially support our organization in any way. We only ask that you return one good deed with another and perform an act of kindness for another. In this way, the cycle of compassion and goodwill continues indefinitely.

Our mission is to spiritually uplift our community, and work toward a greater good. We work tirelessly to feed the hungry and clothe the poor. We help those seeking spiritual healing and enlightenment find the path to a higher power. Our faith-based outreach serves people of all races, creeds, and religions. We support our fellow man, and serve as a guiding light.

We welcome you with open arms. Please inquire today about how you can become a cherished part of our faith-based family.

Local Missions are headed by Margaret Montgomery. Our Scholarship Commitee is headed by Madonna Frisch. Please contact them with any questions, suggestions or interest you may have.

Operation Christmas Child Boxes are now ready for pick up in the Fellowship Hall.  Boxes are due no later than November 16. Look for the collection table in the closet by the Fellowship Hall door for finished boxes.   Let’s use this time to fill boxes that are FUN, FULL, AND PERSONALIZED.  Last year 75 boxes were filled and this year’s goal is to fill 100 boxes with your help and also help from our preschool families, your neighbors and friends.

When you pick up your boxes, you will find instructions, a peel off label and rubber band inside.  The instructions will guide you how to pack a shoe box with suggested items and a list of “do not include item” reminders.  The peel off label should be marked girl or boy, the age group checked and placed on the outside of the box lid.  You can follow your box simply by scanning the QR code to find out it’s final destination.  Finally place the rubberband around the box to keep the contents secure.  Please do not use tape as each box has a final inspection before shipping to countries around the world.
What JOY this shoebox will bring to a child and their family.

For many years, the congregation at Lower UMC has helped make Christmas a bit brighter for families in the community by providing gifts at Christmas. The last few years, the United Women in Faith has coordinated with Middlesex County Social Services to assist them in their effort to provide gifts for the families they serve. This year, Social Services has expressed a particular need for help with the elderly people that they serve. Once we have the gift requests, we will be placing those requests on the ‘Angel Tree’ which will be located in the Fellowship Hall. You can give the gift of love by taking an angel and making a wish come true.

The Martha Sarah Circle of United Women in Faith

United of Women of Faith, the Martha Sarah Circle will meet on Wednesday, November 12 at 10:30 in the Fellowship Hall.  All women are invited. After the program, the Christmas Tree will be decorated in preparation for the Angel Tree Project. Many hands make this a fun activity that we look forward to each year.

In November a survey will be distributed to all women in the church to find a convenient meeting date and time moving into the new year.

What does it mean to be involved? “United Women of Faith seeks to connect and nurture women through Christian spiritual formation, leadership development, creative fellowship, and education that they can inspire, influence and impact local and global communities.”

During the year, the our United Women of Faith have monthly programs, carry on the church’s card ministry, support the Cinderella Project, organize the Angel Tree, support Operation Christmas Child Boxes, provide scholarships, hold fund raisers such as the pecan sales, and support local and foreign mission projects.
